Liris Loka Batik

A contemplative meditation in indigo — script that rains down like blessing, wayang figures rooted at the hem, every colour drawn from the land itself.

Philosophy & motif

A rain of blessing on the universe (Liris Loka)

Javanese aksara, scattered as if at random but never carelessly, fall across an ocean of indigo — like the soft rain (liris) returning to the earth (loka). The script is the symbol of sabda, of knowledge, of the destiny of a life.

It is a prayer that the wearer is forever rained upon by wisdom, by inner stillness, and by sustenance that arrives quietly — but never stops.

Tumpal Wayang: human as the wayang of the cosmos

Along the hem of the cloth stand wayang kulit figures, upright but bowed in reverence. Their place at the foundation of the cloth reflects the Javanese understanding of human life: that on the stage of the world (loka), we are the actors — entrusted to play our part well, with care, and with awareness of the Great Puppeteer.

Natural dye: continuity and honesty

The blue is born of the land itself — pure plant pigment, slowly oxidised. It does not pollute. It is born of patience. It ages gracefully alongside the one who wears it.

It is a symbol of honest character, of humility, and of a quiet commitment to live in harmony with the earth rather than against it.

A garment that listens. A prayer that ages with you.
